Come see African Sky at work and visit some of our host communities in Mali. Whether you are looking for pictures and videos of African Sky projects, or if you're looking for an e-trip to visit some of our Malian friends, African Sky Media has what you need. We have grown considerably from the days our projects were limited to southern Mali, so in 2009 we launched a new video series to begin to connect all of our friends, volunteers, and donors in Mali and the United States. So many of you have dedicated your time, energy, and financial support to our work in West Africa, but few of you have been able to come see first-hand how Africa Sky operates in Mali.
Our new video series, On the Ground with African Sky, enables you to do just that. The first episode takes you to Markala, a small town in northern Mali, where you'll meet Jigiya (an inspiring self-advocacy group of Malians with disabilities). The video also shows African Sky at work with a women's soap-making cooperative, a self-taught electrical engineer, a gardener who works with local orphans, and others. Future episodes will take you to other communities who partner with African Sky to reduce poverty and hunger in Mali.
